Stop Shop Valjevo

STOP SHOP Valjevo is the third retail park of the STOP SHOP chain in Serbia, developed by the Austrian company IMMOFINANZ Group. The construction of two STOP SHOP retail parks — in Niš and Valjevo — was entrusted to Konstruktor, which completed both projects simultaneously on a turnkey basis.
Located in the very center of Valjevo, between the bus and railway stations, the complex is easily accessible for both local residents and travelers.

About the project

The Valjevo complex was developed as a retail park with 19 individual units and a total retail area of 6,161.38 m².
The building was designed as a ground-floor, orthogonal, linear J-shaped structure with a strong horizontal character — an ideal form for this commercial typology.

Each unit is directly accessible from the front parking area, which includes well-organized pedestrian walkways.
The project also included the construction of a 20-meter-high advertising totem.

The structure consists of prefabricated reinforced concrete elements, in a skeletal structural system with independent foundations, columns, main and secondary beams.

The basic structural grid varies between 15.0×18.0 m, 17.0×18.0 m, and 18.0×18.0 m.

The roof system is made of layered trapezoidal steel sheet, thermal insulation, and waterproof membrane, all designed following current energy efficiency and fire protection regulations.

Roof drainage is gravity-based, using horizontal outlets and PVC vertical pipes connected to the city’s stormwater system.

In addition to the main building, external roadworks were carried out over an area of approximately 9,266.50 m².
The traffic system consists of two independent zones:

The front plaza with internal roads and around 100 parking spaces, pedestrian paths, and a small public square for gathering and resting,
and the rear service road.

The surfaces are finished in asphalt, while some pedestrian zones are covered with concrete paving blocks.

Konstruktor was the general contractor, responsible for the complete execution of all architectural and construction works, HVAC, plumbing, electrical installations, interior finishing works, and landscaping, delivered under a turnkey contract.
