Hotel Marriott
Located at Republic Square in the heart of Belgrade, adjacent to the National Theatre, National Museum, and the pedestrian zone of Knez Mihailova Street, the building comprises eight above-ground floors and two underground levels.
Konstruktor was responsible for the demolition of the old façade and existing structural elements, as well as for the construction of a new concrete and steel load-bearing and façade structure.
About the project
The former building, known as the Jugodrvo commercial building, was partially stripped down to its structural frame, which then underwent significant spatial and functional reorganization. The old façade structure, a portion of the prefabricated concrete panels, and the steel framework were removed.
The most substantial changes were made to the ground floor and the first two levels. A new central staircase and elevator core were built from the underground levels to the top of the building, along with a secondary staircase, a service elevator, and a car elevator serving the underground garage.
The architectural design of the new façade was not only aesthetically modern but also functionally optimized, using state-of-the-art thermal insulation materials and a protective copper mesh cladding to address the energy efficiency of the building.
After reconstruction, the Courtyard by Marriott hotel features 114 rooms, meeting rooms, a restaurant, and other hotel amenities.
Konstruktor carried out all demolition works, including the removal of the existing façade, steel, and concrete structure, and executed the construction of the new load-bearing concrete and steel structure, including the façade system.
