GRUNDFOS 2

Collaboration with the Danish investor Grundfos began in 2012 with the construction of their first industrial complex in Inđija, spanning 27,000 m², which at the time represented the largest greenfield investment in Serbia.

Konstruktor was appointed as the general contractor, fully responsible for the design and execution of the geothermal system.

About the project

In 2018, Grundfos continued pushing the boundaries of energy efficiency and water conservation by renewing its cooperation with Konstruktor on the construction of a wastewater treatment facility – Grundfos Biobooster (WWTP).

The successful and ongoing collaboration progressed further in 2021 with the start of construction of a new production and office complex in Inđija, covering an area of 18,000 m², under a “design and build”, turnkey model. Konstruktor was responsible for the design, permitting, and construction of Phase II of this industrial facility (GMS II).

A key feature of this project was the design and implementation of the HVAC system for the GMS II facility, which includes heat pumps and geothermal boreholes with a total capacity of 3 MW. The entire system is fully automated and managed via a state-of-the-art Building Management System (BMS).

The design and execution of this facility met the highest technical and technological standards of the investor, utilizing the latest generation of materials, equipment, and systems, and was completed with the acquisition of the prestigious LEED GOLD certification.

Konstruktor expressed special pride in once again being selected as the general contractor by a company recognized globally for its strong environmental awareness, thereby contributing to ecological progress both locally and globally.

As the general contractor, under a turnkey, design and build agreement, Konstruktor was responsible for the execution of all architectural and structural works, as well as mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical installations, interior finishing, and landscaping of the complex.
