Dobrakovo border crossing
The entry canopy structure at the Dobrakovo border crossing consists of three structural units, with roof dimensions of 25.2 x 21.3 m, 15.45 x 25.2 m, and a cantilever extension of 12.6 x 35.75 m. Konstruktor was engaged on this project as the general contractor.
About the project
The roof’s load-bearing structure consisted of longitudinal flat truss girders made from box profiles, spanning 27.40 m in the curved roof section and 15.50 m in the flat roof section.
Natural lighting at the border crossing was achieved through six skylight strips finished with Lexan cladding. The sides, columns, and curved main trusses were clad with aluminum composite panels.
The administration building had two floors (ground floor + first floor) and was built using 22 prefabricated modular containers, arranged across two levels. The building was clad in thermal insulation panels.
A key feature of this construction system was that the floors and ceilings were fully completed in the production facility, and then delivered to the construction site with disassembled walls. This innovation enabled the transport of all 22 containers using just two trucks instead of the eleven that would have been required using standard methods.
Konstruktor was contracted under a turnkey agreement for the design and execution of all architectural and construction works, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations, interior finishing works, as well as for all landscaping and site development tasks.
