Capitol Park Šabac

The facility was conceived as a retail park with 17 separate retail units, totaling 10,000 m² of gross floor area.
The form of the building reflected its function – two overlapping cuboids of different heights and colors forming an L-shaped layout, with a strong horizontal emphasis. The building was single-story, providing direct access to each unit from the adjacent pedestrian plaza.

The load-bearing structure was made of steel, consisting of steel columns and a steel lattice roof structure. The main spans of the roof girders measured 15 meters, with a column grid of 12 meters. Structurally, the building was divided into three expansion joints: one double-nave section, two triple-nave and four-nave sections.

The rear façade was made of thermal-insulated sandwich panels with 10 cm-thick mineral wool infill, manufactured by Brucha, Austria. The front façade was a classic curtain wall system, featuring a full-length canopy clad in composite aluminum panels (K-bond).

Konstruktor also executed external works over an area of 18,000 m², including parking and internal roads. The traffic system was designed as two independent zones: the front area with access roads and a parking lot for 400 passenger vehicles for visitors, and a rear service road with parking for employees and goods delivery. All traffic surfaces were finished in 8 cm-thick heavy-duty concrete paving blocks (behaton).

Additionally, a 30-meter-high advertising totem was constructed. It consisted of a three-sided lattice tower with 4-meter-long sides and two triangular advertising panels mounted at the top.

Konstruktor acted as the general contractor on this turnkey project, delivering all architectural and structural works, HVAC, water and sewage, electrical installations, interior finishing works, and landscaping of the entire complex.
