Bor – Area 1000
Area 1000, located within the then-new smelter and sulfuric acid plant of RTB Bor, comprises 14 structures used for material transport and preparation (mixing). Konstruktor was responsible for the fabrication and installation of the steel structure.
About the project
The entire load-bearing structure of the facilities was made of steel, with a total weight of approximately 1,130 tons. Of the 14 structures, 6 were towers that supported 7 conveyor bridges and 1 cable tray bridge. The entire steel structure spanned an area of approximately 29,000 m², with sections located at elevations of +353 and +373 meters above sea level.
The towers were designed as frame structures with platforms at points where the conveyors were supported. The largest among them was the daily bunker for concentrate and quartz, weighing around 390 tons and reaching a height of 30 meters.
The conveyor bridges were truss bridge structures, spanning across two or more supports and built as spatial lattice structures. Their spans ranged from 20 to 25 meters, with the longest reaching 32 meters. The tallest column supporting any of the bridges was 30 meters high.
